She started young, working in her parents Earl and Viola’s fish market and later in their lounge/restaurant. Born and raised in Beautiful Beaufort, SC – lived in the Burton area, known to most as the Corna! —The original idea came to Val when she got laid off from work. She got a hot dog cart that was not being used from a family member. After cleaning it up, she decided to go to different job sites to sell hot dogs and sausages, loving every minute of it —-later she added nachos w/homemade chili & cheese and homemade lemonade, chips, and sodas. She started thinking about catering, because of her love for people and food. She catered kid’s parties, pool parties, office celebrations, church functions and even a funeral. She was not limited to the event she would cater to. Val always served great food with exceptional service.

Tragedy struck and Val was unable to sling dem dawgs anymore. She had a vision that one day the business would be successful. She felt as though she let her family and community down.

Years later, her daughter asked, “Have you ever thought about doing the hot dog cart again? You loved it!” Well, years later in February 2026, she is BACK, BACK, BACK! She started building her business again and decided to bring YouTube along for the behind-the-scenes mistakes and laughter. She is looking forward to creating a family online. Remember the vision that she had that one day the business would be successful? Well, now is the time! This time I will be successful, selling one dawg at time.

For Val, it’s all about the people. Meeting new faces, ‘slinging dem dawgs,’ and creating memorable moments. She would not have it any other way. 😊
